by admin on Aug.18, 2010, under Hookah Lounge Reviews, Shisha, Shisha Reviews, Videos

Good Afternoon Hookah Whisperers!

I am very excited about today’s video review! This is Cuzzin’s Double Apple. I learned about Cuzzin’s from a Hookah Whisperer viewer that recommended I try it while I was out in Las Vegas, where Cuzzin’s is sold and distributed. So, I went to the Olive Mediterranean Cafe and Hookah Bar and gave it a try. I think you will really like this brand. Watch the video and see what you think.

I hope you enjoyed the video and if you did, please share this site with others. Also, check out my other new videos on YouTube at the Hookahwhisperer Channel.

More From Las Vegas-Olive Mediterranean Restaurant and Hookah Lounge

by admin on Aug.13, 2010, under Hookah Lounge Reviews, Shisha Reviews

Good Afternoon Hookah Whisperers!

Today I bring you glad tidings from the Olive Mediterranean Restaurant and Hookah Lounge, home of Cuzzins Hookah Products. I visited this hookah lounge on the recommendation of one of our readers. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised by what I found.

First of all, the place is huge! It has five VIP tents and seating for probably another 100. I was there on a Monday night around 6pm and there were around forty people smoking hookah already. The atmosphere is Middle Eastern with live music, magic shows, and belly dancer’s, depending on what night you visit.

This is also the home of Cuzzins brand shisha. They make there own shisha and currently sell over fifty different flavors, mostly in the west and in parts of Utah. Their flavors are outstanding and last a long time in the bowl. I smoked four flavors that night and was impressed by all of them. I will definitely be selling this brand as it is an answer to the gap I am feeling in the market. The prices are between 7.99-8.99 for a 125G so it is truly a great value.

I highly recommend visiting this hookah lounge when you are in the Las Vegas area. Just ask for Nick and Jay and they will welcome you into their hookah family. Truly a Las Vegas “must see”!

Do You Pack Your Bowl of Shisha Better Than a Hookah Lounge?

by admin on Jun.08, 2010, under Hookah Lounge Reviews, Hookahs, Shisha

Good Morning Hookah Whisperers!

As I was sitting down last night smoking a bowl of Al Fakher Grape with Mint with a frozen hose and enjoying it way too much, a thought occurred in my little dinosaur brain. “Do I pack my bowl as well as the hookah lounges that I frequent?” My immediate thought was yes, but then I thought about all of the times when my draw was too hard or the shisha burned too hot. I rarely have those things happen at a hookah bar.

So, I called a friend who owns a hookah lounge and restaurant and asked him what made his pack so great. He explained his process, which is very lengthy by the way, which would explain why it takes a few minutes to get your hookah at a decent hookah bar. He said he lays the shisha out on wax paper and fluffs it up thoroughly. This makes it so that air can circulate through the bowl easier. He then lays it softly in the bowl to make sure not to pack it down. That’s it! Compared to what I do, this would be much easier! He also uses less shisha this way and you still get a good 45 minutes of flavor out of the shisha. He told me that when you pack a bowl too tight, you don’t utilize all of the shisha flavor. A lot of it is left in the bowl or burns. This does make sense.

So, my question to all of you is: Would it be helpful if I shot some videos of shisha bar owners packing bowls so that you could see how the professionals do it, or would that be insulting? Let me know.

The Vine Market, Cafe, Bakery, Juice and Falafel Bar, and Hookah Lounge!Wow, What a Mouthful!

by admin on May.17, 2010, under Hookah Lounge Reviews

Good Morning Hookah Whisperers!

Today I want to tell you about a GREAT, I said GREAT, place to go to have a fantastic hookah experience. It is called The Vine, or if you want the full name look at the title above…that about covers it. It is located in St. Louis Missouri at 3171-73 South Grand BLVD. What is really funny about this, is that I was following my GPS to the Hookah Bar that had been recommended to me, and The Vine was a block closer, so I just went there instead. And boy am I glad I did!

When I go to a hookah Lounge and know I am going to pay anywhere from $9-$18 per bowl to smoke in their exotic atmosphere, I want my bowl packed right and I want it to smoke well for a minimum of an hour. This is the first Hookah Lounge that I have been to that actually packs a better bowl than I pack for myself at home! I was amazed and the owner, Ali came over and explained the training his people go through to get it right. This really impressed me as well. An owner who personally trains the employees! Where has that concept gone?

They have a great selection of shisha, they will custom mix and they also sell hookahs in the market next door. And the best part is that they also have outdoor seating so that you can smoke in the open air in the summer and just enjoy being in the city!

Overall. this was a great experience for me. I had an awesome smoke, I made a couple of new friends, and I now have a goto place in St. Louis when I am in the area. So, if you are anywhere near st. Louis, go in and check out The Vine. You will be so glad that you did.

AL BASHA MEDITERRANEAN GRILL(AND HOOKAH LOUNGE…Shhhhhh)!

by admin on Apr.21, 2010, under Hookah Lounge Reviews

Greetings Fellow Hookah Whisperers!

Today, I have a real treat of a review for you. Just south of 116th Street and Allisonville Road in Fishers Indiana, back behind a auto service center and another strip mall, lies a tiny diamond in the rough. Al Basha is the name of this establishment.

To call it a Hookah lounge would be a tremendous understatement. The owner, Mario, also has a Mediterranean Grill and a grocery all conveniently in the same building. The Hookah lounge sits totally enclosed in an area that doesn’t allow the smoke to interfere with people who are dining in the grill.

They also have a full selection of Hookahs and Shisha, a broad selection of shisha I might add. As I was leaving I bought a 250g of Al Fakher Grape with mint because I couldn’t resist the display area!

I had a bowl of Al Fakher Lemon with Mint and it was served in an Egyptian rotator hookah. The flavor was strong and what I expected and the hookah smoked cool the entire sitting. I didn’t sample the food, but had the option to do so in the Hookah area. You just can’t smoke in the restaurant area. What I can tell you, is that the restaurant had a steady flow of customers for the hour I was there. Even the market was busy.

My total bill for a diet Pepsi and a hookah for an hour came to $12.95. This seemed like an exceptional deal to me! And Mario and his staff couldn’t have been nicer.

If you are in the Indianapolis area definitely go check out Al Basha, at 11321 Village Square in Fishers Indiana. Absolutely great!

SAHARA HOOKAH LOUNGE-ALIVE AND VERY WELL IN TINLEY PARK!

by admin on Apr.06, 2010, under Hookah Lounge Reviews

Good Morning Hookah Whisperers!

I had a business trip to Chicago this week and was randomly looking for a Hookah Lounge in which to grab a bite and a smoke. I was way out in Tinley Park and was told by a nice young lady in Steinmart about the Sahara Hookah Lounge in Tinley.

It is located roughly at the corner of 159th and 80th ave. in Tinley Park, but you have to look closely to find it as it sits back in a small strip mall.

It was about 11 am and I was pleasantly surprised to find I was the first customer of the day. I ordered a hookah with Citrus Mint Starbuzz shisha from the largest selection of shisha I have ever seen at a hookah lounge, and the owner, Mohamed, brought it out for me. It was a rotator, which I found to be unstable in the past. This one was exceptional quality and didn’t wobble at all. Also, he puts the hoses in the freezer, so your first smoke from your hookah is unbelievable! It is so cool and refreshing and this coolness lasts for about fifteen minutes.

I also ordered an iced tea, which Mo brewed especially for me from a his stash of black teas. This was an incredible compliment to the shisha and to me as well. Thanks, Mo, for the great service!

Overall, this is a great place to grab a smoke with friends. If you are looking for a club type, techno dance atmosphere to pretend you are hip, don’t bother. If you are a true hookah lover, this is the place for you. So, if you are in the Chicagoland area, I highly recommend it.

HOOKAH WEST LAFAYETTE-PURDUE UNIVERSITY HOOKAH LOUNGE

by admin on Apr.02, 2010, under Hookah Lounge Reviews

Good Morning Hookah Whisperers!

Last week I had the privilege of once again, being in West Lafayette on business, so I decided to give the hookah lounge “Hookah” a try. I went with four friends on a Friday night at around 8:30pm.

It could have been that the Boilermakers were playing that night in the sweet sixteen, and the lounge has two big TV’s going, but it was absolutely packed! We had a hard time getting a table. Usually hookah lounges start picking up after 10pm. But this one was packed and stayed that way until we left around 10:30.

Here’s the good news; the service and the food were excellent! The waitresses were well trained on the menu and the hookah part of the job. They were a pleasure to work with! The owner also strolled around and spoke with the guests which made you feel very welcome, indeed. My friends ordered some hummus and pita chips, a quesadilla, and some other hummus like thing that sounds like “Bababooey”. (Howard Stern would be proud.) My friends said the food was spectacular!

Now, the bad news; The hookah smoke was very warm. The draw was warm, the vase was warm, and the smoke was marginal. I asked for some ice which helped a little, but overall, for what you are paying, the smoking experience was pretty average. They did practice exemplary heat management though, and kept the coals burning well and replaced them frequently.

Having said that, this is the more expensive hookah lounge in West Lafayette, these are college students for the most part, and the place was packed! So, who am I to say that they are doing anything wrong. If you are in West Lafayette, definitely give this place a try.

Overall, we had a great time. The social aspect of smoking hookah is definitely alive in this lounge, and that is the whole point!

THE EGYPTIAN HOOKAH LOUNGE-WEST LAFAYETTE INDIANA-PURDUE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS

by admin on Mar.31, 2010, under Hookah Lounge Reviews

Good Morning Hookah Whisperers!

Last week I had the great opportunity to be in West Lafayette Indiana on the campus of Purdue University. While there, I had a wonderful lunch at the Egyptian Hookah Lounge and a great smoke as well. A quick thank you to Purdue students, Tabby, Jonathan, Sarah, and Matt for letting me get a shot of them enjoying the Egyptian for lunch.

The place has about the charm you would expect from a College town hookah lounge…not too fancy, but yet exotic enough to draw you in. The cheeseburger and fries I had were incredible, and huge. I ended up taking more than half of it in a box and having it for dinner.

The tobaccos they serve are a variety and they of course have Starbuzz. I had a mix of Starbuzz Orange and Mojito. It was a great smoke! The hookahs they use are pretty good quality. The look is almost too antique-ish to believe that they are actually old, but they are beautiful, and smoke very well.

Apparently they have quite a lineup for the evenings at the Egyptian as well. They have an open mic night I know, and I was told they have a DJ most other nights, so it seems like a great social gathering place.

So, to sum up; The price for a mixed bowl of Starbuzz shisha, a double cheeseburger and fries, and a large iced tea(for some great green tea Click Here!) came to around $21 with tip. I don’t think that is too bad.

So, the next time you are in Lafayette, stop in and have a smoke at the Egyptian. It really is a great atmosphere and value. I recommend it highly.

Until next time, remember; Life is too short to smoke cheap shisha!
