Good Evening Hookah Whisperers!

Today starts the most beloved annual tradition in Northern Indiana for many people…the Blueberry Festival in Plymouth, Indiana! This is a festival that draws nearly a million people to a town of 10,000 every year over Labor Day. If you know Northern Indiana, you know that that means there will be at least a half million teeth, entering the gates. Yes, the English language will receive a severe beating, but this is the Heartland, so we will look the other way.

The best part about this festival is that this is not the hotbed for Blueberry farms. In fact, I don’t know of any in town! It is just a great excuse to get together in a very crowded space and gorge ourselves on Smoked Turkey Legs, deep fried everything, and of course Funnel cakes. This is also the only chance I get yearly to use a Porta-John, and I wouldn’t miss that for the world!

So, in honor of this great event, I am inviting any of you in the area to come have a smoke with me. Just respond to this post with an email or send me a personal message on YouTube and I will give you directions to where we can meet. I hope that many of you will be available. Maybe we’ll even review some shisha!

Today I offer up my take on Fusion Exotic Hawaiian Mist. This smells like a tropical fruit blend, pretty strong at that. The flavor though was a bit on the weak side, as was the smoke. I had been saying in other recent videos reviewing Fusion, that I thought they had started a move to be a more upscale brand. This one doesn’t strike me in that same way. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Today I truly abandon the norm for a real treat. I don’t know this guy, but this video is awesome! So many parodies of songs are just crap and have no production quality.

I hope you enjoy this video as much as I do.

Today I just wanted to have a little fun with some pictures from my trip to Las Vegas. In the hotel we were staying in was a Star Trek convention. These people really take this stuff seriously, and I have to give them credit. The costumes and the likenesses were really remarkable!

Some of the characters I wasn’t exactly sure of, as I am not a huge fan. I am a fan, don’t get me wrong, but this group of fans have forgotten more about the series than I will ever know.

So, I hope you enjoy the pics, and if anyone would like to chime in on the characters and their stories, please feel free. Just so there is no mistake…I know which one is Jean Luc Picard!

Incidentally, Spock’s family gambling was just to great to pass up.

Wow, is it great to be back! I have been on the road for over two weeks with vacation and a conference in Vegas, and man I am glad to be back to the office for some normal day to day. I had a great conference in Vegas and will be showing some cool new stuff, including new brands of shisha, in the next few weeks. I thought today I would just share a few photos of the strip and put in a teaser for this afternoons post. Let me just say two words: Star…Trek!

Interesting flavors in this mix from Social Smoke. Typically, I would gauge this as a fall-winter smoke, but the flavor blend is strong enough to be a year round treat. Watch the video and see what you think.

Tangiers. What an interesting ride. This weekend, I smoked about my fifth bowl of all time. Prior to preparation, I watched a video on YouTube of the owner of Tangiers preparing a bowl. I really think this is a must for anyone who is serious about smoking Tangiers on a regular basis.

The biggest lesson I learned is to not over pack the bowl. Now, this may seem obvious to most, but it is essential for a good Tangiers smoke. If the least bit burns, it will ruin the whole experience. Secondly, Expect a harsher smoke from Tangiers. I believe it is meant to taste this way. Not harsh in the sense that it is unpleasant, but harsh in the fact that you are smoking a stronger, richer tobacco. The flavor is sometimes secondary, but noticeable.

I definitely do not recommend Tangiers for the beginner. This is a smoke that requires perseverance and a love of the Hookah tradition and process. I look forward to my next venture into this brand.

Hey Y’all! For those of you tuning in for the first time, it’s Double Apple Day! I love Double Apple shisha of all kinds, but this is surely one of my favorites. It really crosses over and adds more of an apple taste, which is a good thing for this. Watch the video and see what you think.

As you smoke this one into the twenty and thirty minutes, the licorice comes out more pronounced and you get a more traditional flavor, but the smooth apple flavor remains. Not too sweet, but very flavorful! Give this a try and let me know what you think.
