Good Evening Hookah Whisperers!

Today starts the most beloved annual tradition in Northern Indiana for many people…the Blueberry Festival in Plymouth, Indiana! This is a festival that draws nearly a million people to a town of 10,000 every year over Labor Day. If you know Northern Indiana, you know that that means there will be at least a half million teeth, entering the gates. Yes, the English language will receive a severe beating, but this is the Heartland, so we will look the other way.

The best part about this festival is that this is not the hotbed for Blueberry farms. In fact, I don’t know of any in town! It is just a great excuse to get together in a very crowded space and gorge ourselves on Smoked Turkey Legs, deep fried everything, and of course Funnel cakes. This is also the only chance I get yearly to use a Porta-John, and I wouldn’t miss that for the world!

So, in honor of this great event, I am inviting any of you in the area to come have a smoke with me. Just respond to this post with an email or send me a personal message on YouTube and I will give you directions to where we can meet. I hope that many of you will be available. Maybe we’ll even review some shisha!

Today I just wanted to have a little fun with some pictures from my trip to Las Vegas. In the hotel we were staying in was a Star Trek convention. These people really take this stuff seriously, and I have to give them credit. The costumes and the likenesses were really remarkable!

Some of the characters I wasn’t exactly sure of, as I am not a huge fan. I am a fan, don’t get me wrong, but this group of fans have forgotten more about the series than I will ever know.

So, I hope you enjoy the pics, and if anyone would like to chime in on the characters and their stories, please feel free. Just so there is no mistake…I know which one is Jean Luc Picard!

Incidentally, Spock’s family gambling was just to great to pass up.

Good Morning Again Hookah Whisperer’s!

Remember the other day when I thought I was losing my taste for hookah? I just couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t tasting right and just wasn’t satisfying me anymore. Well, I figured it out.

Two things: One, I used my hookah to the point that it had just had enough. This one hookah was used at least 500 times and I think it just gave up the fight. Second, I was smoking way too much. Once I backed down to a max of twice a day, I started getting the satisfaction that I used to get with each smoke.

So, be not dismayed, I am back and enjoying the smoke once again!

I am heading home from work shortly, but wanted to show you something really cool. This video is of me smoking our first Hookah that we will be selling on Hookahwhisperer.com in a couple of months. I just wanted to put this out again for all of you writers-in-hiding. I am a writer in my spare time, yeah I didn’t think I had any either, for Examiner.com and absolutely love it. F I can do it, anyone can, so if you love to write or you are currently writing or contributing to a blog, check this out! I have laid out the steps to do this below. Good luck to all of you that pursue this exciting path!

1) Go to examiner.com.

2) In the top banner, there is a “change city” button. If the city that is showing is not the city/area you would like to write for, click that button and change the city.

3) In the top panel on the right-hand side, click “write for us.”

4) You will see a list of open writing opportunities.

5) Click on one that interests you, and select it. This will take you to the next page, which is “personal information.”

6) At the bottom of this page, you will find a box that says, “How did you hear about Examiner.com?” Remember to put in either my “Examiner ID” which is 48850 OR search “Mark Ringenberg” under “Examiner Name.”

7) Once my name comes up in the search results, click on it and it will name me as your referrer. (After you become an examiner, you will see how this can increase your income and help you increase your readership).

Click the “next” button at the bottom and tell them a little about your experience on the next page. (This can be any type of life experience and how it will relate to you writing about your topic.)

9) At the bottom of this page, click “next” and it will take you to the writing sample

10) If you already have a blog, use some of your previous posts as evidence for your writing abilities and experience. (If not, write about something your are comfortable writing about – preferably something relating to the examiner area for which you are applying)

* Usually the sign up process takes approximately 30 minutes, and they will review your application quickly because they are in dire need of new writers

After 2 and a half months, I am starting to see some income and know that I made the right choice in applying to be an examiner. I also really love writing (especially when it relates to something I thoroughly enjoy), and this gives me the opportunity to get paid for doing something I would do regardless. I am happy to say that writing for “The Examiner” is a blast, and hopefully you will have the same positive experience.

I just got off the phone with an excise officer for the state of Indiana. He told me that as of July 1, 2010, ALL sales and delivery of ALL tobacco products, except cigars, are illegal in the United States. This led me to read up on the act. Many of the articles I read said that it will now be illegal to ship tobacco through the USPS, while for years, some said, Fedex and UPS have refused to deliver tobacco products. Fedex and UPS have refused to deliver tobacco products? Are you kidding me? I have recieved more tobacco from Fedex than I have from florist at funerals! What is the purpose behind these crazy laws? It has to be money for somebody. This country’s government is so messed up it is unbelievable.

The point of this post is frustration and ventin g on my part, but I would like to hear what all of you know out there. Please help me to better understand this broken US government. All posts welcomed and encouraged.

So, two nights ago I can’t sleep after taking my sleeping pills, so at 12:30 I light up my third bowl of Al Fakher Grape with Mint shisha. Just as an FYI for everybody, not a good idea. I ended up not sleeping at all, and just went to work early. I am a moron. Just wanted to spin a little yarn there.

Now on to today’s review. Layalina, huh? Yes, as always with Layalina, I am skeptical. But I did buy the 250G, so I feel good about the product going in. The flavor is right on, absolutely perfect. And I actually eat raspberries, so I know how they taste for a change! The smoke is standard Layalina smoke, not nearly as thick as Al Fakher or Starbuzz. I hope you enjoy the video.
