Good afternoon all. I just wanted to let you know that I have a bunch of Japanese style coals that I am blowing out on eBay this weekend. 160 coals for a starting bid of $4.44 plus shipping. These are some excellent coals that I use daily. Are they Coco’s…no. But they also don’t cost what Coco’s cost. They last quite a while, usually around an hour and a half for me. I use three sets of two coals each on my large bowl on my rig, and that is pretty hot. They don’t have an odor and they ash pretty cleanly as long as you aren’t in a direct heavy wind.

I definitely like these, so give them a try. You can’t beat the price. By the way, I also have some hookahs on eBay this weekend at auction starting at $48 for a 28-31 inch rig. Check them out.

Good afternoon all.

Well, it was laying around…that’s why! I just couldn’t put off reviewing this any longer.

While this is not a flavor that I would pick to smoke on a mid 70′s temperate day, it wasn’t all that bad. Although, I do believe it would have been much nicer on a late November day with a fire lit in the fireplace and a cup of tea. This shisha has a distinct mint aroma with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. When you smoke it though, the mint is in the background and the cinnamon and nutmeg take over.

The smoke is standard Starbuzz smoke, big puffy clouds. The quality of the tobacco is evident and the moisture content perfect for a cool smoke that won’t easily burn.

There is no doubt, Starbuzz makes a really good product. It is pretty consistent and it really is a quality made shisha. The flavors are just too plentiful and overlapping for my taste. This one is a flavor that if they pulled tomorrow, I doubt if anyone would notice. If I need this flavor, I could choose a variety of others that are similar and not really miss anything.

Overall, this is about a five on a scale of ten for me. Nothing that really leaps up and says, “notice me!”. If you like a unequal mix of sweetness, cinnamon and mint, give it a try.

Today would have been my late son’s 21st birthday. I would like to celebrate who he was by showing you a few short links to video clips of him. He was truly an awesome son.

The first clip is of him singing a Dylan song at his high school while dressed in a tuxedo. He thought this brought a bit of irony to the song and the songwriter. I think he was right on! The second clip is of him trying to smoke a cigarette in one draw. Remember, he was the one who got me started smoking hookah. He had lungs of steel.

Good Morning Everybody!

Taking one for the team is sort of my mantra when it comes to today’s flavor. As you know from reading this blog and watching my videos, I am not of fan of these food type flavors. There is just something about smoking a flavor of shisha that could be a food, just doesn’t play for me. I was presently surprised by this flavor though, and have enjoyed this many times since. They hit this one right on! Aperfect mix and blend to create a very flavorful smoke. Watch the vid and see what you think.

Over the next couple of weeks I will be monitoring the progress of the forum because I will need some of you to serve as moderators. This is a fairly complex flavor combination, and because of said complexity, Caleb and I have coined the following phrase to describe it. As most of you know, Hookah Whisperer is not only an active blog, but is also active on Twitter, Facebook, Digg and many other social networks. On Twitter, we have about five hundred followers. One of those followers is Brewsky, a rapper based in California, who is also CEO of his own label, In Ovation records.

Notice how I didn’t say “Good afternoon, Hookah Whisperers.” today? Well, I have gotten some email recently telling me that it sounds a bit cheesy and that I should just take the name Hookah Whisperer as my code name. So, I will try it for awhile, but definitely message me and tell me what you think.

Today we explore the flavor musing of a shisha that I am not a huge fan of normally. I AM a huge fan of their packaging, but normally the smoke is a bit thin and the flavors are a bit vague. Watch the vid and see what you think. Enjoy the video.

So, once again, I have been let down by mocked by the science of marketing. The boxes look so enticing in the store, but the product just doesn’t come to the party! So, I would probably stay away from this one, unless you are a beginner that needs to ease into smoking.
